While every other photo booth platform looks and sounds the same, we wanted a face that felt as fun and memorable as the moments you capture with us. The llama looks you straight in the eye, confident and friendly, ready for the party.
But here is the thing about llamas that most people don’t know. They are remarkably hardworking, dependable, and sure-footed. They carry heavy loads over difficult terrain without complaint. They show up, do the job, and never let you down. That is not a coincidence. That is exactly the company we have spent 14 years trying to be.
We started as a small software project and grew into a platform trusted by thousands of operators in over 150 countries. Wedding photographers in New Jersey. DJs running booths in London. Event companies in Brazil, Australia, and everywhere in between. For 14 years, through every iOS update, every new camera standard, every shift in how people share photos, we showed up. We carried the load. We never stopped improving.

What Else Is New
- Canva Direct Import. If you use Canva to design photo layouts, you can export from Canva as a PDF and import directly into the LumaBooth Dashboard and all your layers will import individually.
- Automatic Photo Placeholder Detection. Your photo placeholder locations will automatically be recognized when you add your JPG or PNG overlay through LumaBooth Dashboard. No need to manually adjust.
- Contrast-aware guest buttons. Text and icons now automatically adjust for readability against any background color. Your booth always looks great, no matter what theme you’re running.
- Welcome screen editor improvements. Better canvas sizing, font size control for every text layer, and simplified color settings make customizing your welcome screen faster and more intuitive than ever.
- Larger file size limits. Animated overlays now support files up to 50 MB, and uploaded assets up to 15 MB, giving you more room for rich, creative designs.
- Consistent output sizes. GIF, slow-mo, and video output are now standardized for consistent results across every session.
- Smarter print limits. We’ve improved how print limits work so they don’t get hit accidentally mid-event.
- Smoother event loading. Progress indicators keep you informed while events load, and remote update notifications are cleaner and more accurate.
- Better theme compatibility alerts. Switching between iPhone and iPad/Mac layouts now surfaces clear alerts when themes aren’t compatible, so you’re never caught off guard.
Bug Fixes
We also squashed some bugs that were bugging us (and you):
- Fixed an issue where the welcome screen could freeze or turn blurry during events
- Survey questions now wrap correctly and can be added without issues
- Fixed navigation bar appearance on older iOS versions
- Clearer error messages when uploads encounter issues
